Lublin Jazz Festival

On the occasion of the fifth anniversary edition of Lublin Jazz Festival, we bring to life an unique team!

The composition of this extraordinary orchestra consists of:

Trifonidis Roots Trio and Lublin young musicians. During the three-day workshops, the Orchestra will prepare specially arranged for that occasion pieces . On the last day of the Festival, they will perform together on the stage.

Maciej Trifonidis (born 24 February 1974 in Warsaw) – composer, guitarist, music producer, sound engineer. He composes for large orchestral compositions, chamber ensembles, solo projects … Trifonidis as a multi-instrumentalist grants and creates a lot of bands jazz, world music, acoustic music and improvised music. Conducts workshops for children and youth. He composes music for film and theater, and as a producer, sound engineer and publisher (slowdown records), creates and records music in his own studio (Studio Trifonidis).

Daniel Moński – musician, multi-instrumentalist darabuka, daf, bendir, cajon, tabla, dhol, also sings aliquote (kargyra, hoomey, sygyt), musician of collective Masala SoundSystem. He has worked with teams Stara Lipa, Yerba Mater, Beltaine, Gdająca Tykwa, Nell Ambientes, Ogrody Alamut, Macko Korba, a theater group Tapestry, and many other artistic projects. Co-organizer of many workshops and drumming festivals . He has participated in musical events associated with the culture of the Middle East.

Jacek Mazurkiewicz – double bass player, composer, combines acoustics with electronics, still looking for a new sound.He works mainly on the ground of improvised chamber music, and one of his favorite musical forms are duets that he creates, among others, with Mikolaj Trzaska, Doministrym, Tomasz Dabrowski, or contrabass duo with Ksawery Wójciński  called Double Trouble. Another part of his music actions is 3FoNIA – solo project, where the main source of noise is the bass – natural or formulated in many ways.
