Skerebotte Fatta & Olgierd Dokalski

Skerebotte Fatta, is a duo of friends from the heart – Dominik “Dodos” Mokrzewski and Jan Malkowski – for whom unadulterated music is an expression of their passion and hope that the world will someday be more pluralistic and remain diverse, not only in streams of unbridled expression, but also, using the idioms of the revolution in music of the 1960s, remember themselves in the finesse power and simplicity of rhythm and birdlike sounds of the saxophone or heavenly sounds of the guitar. They draw inspiration from the Fire Music movement. Both come from the Warsaw improvised music scene, associated with the clubs Eufemia, Pardon To Tu, Chlodna25, Younger Sister, Clouds. Their regular collaborators include the Warsaw Improvisers Orchestra formed by Ray Dickaty, the Infant Joy quintet (including the excellent New Ghosts project, For Tune 2014), Deviant Blues combining blues traditions with free improvisation, and the rock/avant-garde band Fish, in which they smuggle in jazz inspirations. Their playing is a kind of unstudied sonic dialogue – a form of communication and expression of pure emotions. Ecstatic celebration of the moment and sound, spontaneity, explosiveness, sincerity and costiveness. Improvisation without rigid rules. Trumpeter Olgierd Dokalski will perform on stage with the band. The emotional trumpet playing of Olgierd Dokalski has been spoken of in superlatives by Michael Gira – leader of the group Swans and trumpeter Nils Petter Molvaer.
