HUM
HUM is an intercontinental group where Slavic melancholy, a South American passion, is organically combined with Swiss precision and Germanic sense of form. HUM won this year’s prestigious competition at the international BeJazz festival in Bern, Switzerland. They come to Poland for the second time, this time with the premiere of their first album.
HUM is a quartet playing creative jazz, founded in 2016 in New York. The essence of the group is the dynamics between a multicultural background and a united, strong, shared vision of collective improvisation. It is composed of Jędrzej Łagodziński from Poland on a tenor saxophone, Silvan Schmid from Switzerland on a trumpet, Nataniel Edelman from Argentina on a piano and Max Santner from Austria on drums. Each of these musicians is active on their local scene (Berlin, Zurich, Copenhagen and Buenos Aires). The music consisted of each member’s composition, collective reorganization and arrangement of songs, which creates the best environment for musical exploration.
