14. Lublin Jazz Festiwal | Piotr Jagielski “Sacred Tradition, Own Voice: Tales of American Jazz.” – author’s meeting

Together with a Branch No. 2 of the Municipal Public Library of Hieronim Łopaciński in Lublin we invite you to a meeting with the author Piotr Jagielski entitled “Sacred Tradition, Own Voice: Tales of American Jazz.”

Journalist Piotr Jagielski will tell the extraordinary story of American jazz music, based on his book “Sacred Tradition, Own Voice: Tales of American Jazz”. From dancing New Orleans through lofty New York to unpretentious Chicago – the author describes the fate and achievements of the most important representatives of the musical pantheon. Like an enthusiastic curator, he shows us around the jazz museum, not hiding his own fascinations and commitment. He talks to musicians, listens to records and follows the trail of the most important representatives of the genre. He also does not forget about the history of racism in America, because the history of American jazz is not only the history of musical pioneers, but above all the history of black Americans in the 20th century. Sacred Tradition, Your Own Voice is a captivating story about the birth and development of jazz, one of the most important musical genres in the world.
