Marilyn Mazur Quartet plays warm and communicating music, intense and melodic, fulfilling Marilyn’s multicolored original compositions and imaginative poetic visions with lots of spontaneous energy.

Inside her large percussioninstallations, Marilyn weaves exciting patterns of beautiful sounds and mystic grooves.

In this Copenhagen-based group, Marilyn has gathered some of her closest musical friends, all very creative individualists, that have worked together for a long time.

Marilyn Mazur was born in New York, but from the 6 year of her life lived in Denmark. She is African-American and Polish origin. She started her musical career as a dancer in Creative Dance Theatre in 1971 as a composer and pianist, founded his first band in 1973 r. Altough she was self-taught in playing the drums and percussion instruments, later graduated at the Royal Danish Academy of Music.

Marilyn Mazur is one of the few women in the pantheon of world-famous jazz. She visited the most noble festivals in the world. The largest fame and recognition brought her collaboration with jazz aces, primarily the Miles Davis. She was a drummer in his group in 1985, 1988 and 1989.
