Lublin Jazz: Tomasz Gadecki / Olbrzym i Kurdupel

Two concerts on one ticket!

Another concert within the Lublin Jazz series, in which we present the most interesting phenomena in contemporary jazz and improvised music at the Cultural Center in Lublin.

Tomasz Gadecki’s project “let’s talk about shame” is a combination of acoustic music and electronics, transforming saxophone sounds into a new soundscape using an effects loop. When creating music, electronics are used in unusual ways, opening space for endless transformations. There are two most important elements in the creative process: time and change. In this music, there is a noticeable freedom in the approach to topics, showing the emotional sensitivity of the creator influencing the final effect of the work. Technology is treated here not as an addition or an effect intended to complement the sound of the instrument, but creates its own separate world in which the sound of the saxophone is just the beginning…

Olbrzym i Kurdupel – a duo of improvisers, Marcin Bożek and Tomasz Gadecki. Making music together allows them to fulfill themselves artistically. In improvisation they feel free and unrestrained by anything. Their playing is filled with emotions that lead them to very different musical areas stylistically. They do not focus their attention on building their differences from existing genres at all costs; on the contrary, this emotional approach to playing makes each concert different and surprising even for the musicians themselves. The process of composing the piece is identical to its premiere and only performance.

Tomasz Gadecki – saxophone, electronics
Marcin Bożek – guitar
